Submission of animated films

It is that time of the year again. Preparations of IAD 2008 is in full swing. It is going to another week of fun filled activities, sessions, workshops!!! The website for IAD 08 is currently underconstruction. Soon we are going to be coming up with all the new details that circles around IAD 2008!

We have recently sent out a mailer for Call For Entries on AnimationXpress. Regulations for submissions are :

1. OBJECTIVES
ASIFA India Awards of Excellence have been setup to recognize and celebrate the best in the art of Animation. The awards ceremony will take place on November 2^nd of December in Mumbai. Awards of Excellence is organized by Asifa India in association with its supporters.

2. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Films must have been completed between the time span of October '07 to September '08. The competition is open for all animated films .Submitting films is free of charge.

3. DEADLINE AND SUBMISSION
The submission deadline is September 10th, 2008.
The following material has to be sent together with each submitted film:

1) a VHS pal or a DVD of the film (1 film per tape)
2) a FULLY completed entry form
3) a complete list of dialogue, commentary and/or text inserts in original language AND in English
4) at least 1 still photo from the film

ASIFA India will not return the submitted materials.

4. SELECTION
The sender will be notified of the selection results by a specific date.(Date to be announced soon).

5. SHIPPING PROCEDURE

The expenses of sending the Film will be paid by the sender. Preview/ Screening copies will not be returned. The tapes/ CDs must be sent by 20th October 2008 to the following address:

Competition Categories:
The following are the five main categories available for submission to the competition this year:

1. Student Films
Films made by animation students in further and higher education.

2. Professional Films / Independent Films ( Short Films less than 1 min)
Films made by professional animators and studios, can be adverts, public service announcements, TVCs, etc.

3. Professional Films / Independent Films ( Short Films 1 min to 10 min)
Films made by professional animators and studios, can be Short films, public service messages, Documentaries, etc.

4. Professional Films / Independent Films (Long Format more than 10 min)
Films made by professional animators and studios, can be TV serials, feature length films, etc.
